since we tied the knot!
To our dearest family and friends,
We all have a story to tell - this just happens to be ours. It's a story of young love that bloomed quickly and grew fiercely for nearly a decade. It's a shared history of leaning into resilience and sinking into softness. We invite you to discover how our story began, who has been by our side along the way, and what we're looking forward to building into the future.
After all, anything worth while takes time.

Our Story

How We Met

It was August 2014 and Jake was beginning his final year at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Savannah was returning as a sophomore after spending the summer taking college courses and working at a doggy daycare back home in Colorado. We were both theatre majors vying for the leads in the classic Shakespearean comedy, Much Ado About About Nothing.
As fate would have it, we were cast as the iconic sardonic duo and spent many rehearsals falling in love on and off stage. Every day together was another chance to relish in our similarities and discover new interests. Whether we knew it or not, during those precious few months in the crisp autumn air, we were writing the first chapters of our story together.
"I do love nothing in the world so well as you."
William Shakespeare

The Proposal

We took a trip to New York City to visit loved ones and schedule a couple's photoshoot in March 2022. After a very cold afternoon of taking photos in the Shakespeare Garden of Central Park, we serendipitously stumbled upon the same restaurant we ate at on our first date to the city. As we sat on rickety red barstools at the white-tiled counter of this tiny hole in Hell's Kitchen, we found ourselves reminiscing about the past and dreaming about the future. It was over two plates of tiramisu and chocolate souffle when the subject of ring shopping was brought up and we planned a trip to Brooklyn the next day. Our relationship has been built by many open and honest conversations, so it was only fitting that our engagement be built the same way.

Wedding Party

From the moment Savannah was born, her big sister has always been there for her. In many ways, she was her first best friend, from playing dolls, to performing silly dances, to being unabashedly obsessed with teenage vampires. Growing up, there was never a shortage of books or craft projects with Sheriden, which undoubtedly served as a positive influence for Savannah's creative endeavors. As she grew older, Sheriden developed a love for chemistry, biology, and how both influence the cosmetic and health industries. Sheriden is passionate about makeup and skin health, which is why she will be in charge of Savannah's bridal make up on the day of the wedding!

Our favorite things:

Her steadfast integrity, fierce protectiveness, and strong intuition
From the moment she was born, her big brother Jake has always cherished her. After they first met in the delivery room, when she finally came home nestled in her carrier, Jake excitedly pointed to her exclaiming, “bAbY”! Since then, she was the first for whom he ever stoked his guardianship. From watching her receive her degrees, to her many forays in sports, and even to her finishing all her veggies (at which time Jake proceeded to excitedly tell their dad down the barrel of the home video camera their dad thought was just secretly capturing this moment), Jake's cup of pride for her has never emptied. Especially now as she's masterfully become a mentor for others in Social Work.
Our favorite things:
Her compassion, her readiness to aide others, her uninhibited honesty
There is never a shortage of laughter with Cody around as a big brother. He always has a way of coming up with silly phrases and taglines that forever implant themselves in your mind. He's always been a wiz with computers, and Savannah spent many afternoons as a kid watching him play computer games as he patiently explained the rules. He's a dedicated off-road cyclist who volunteers his time as the member of a local non-profit organization for the Dallas-Fort Worth cycle community. Also: Never attempt to start an argument with him unless you're ready to back up your stance. His former education in debate and speech means he'll come prepared...with receipts.

Our favorite things:
His imaginative innovations, healthy skepticism, and passion for embracing challenges
Practically Jake's first sister, though first cousins, they met at such a young age. So long ago, in fact, that it was before they could even form their first memories, let alone together. From her giving directions on various skits they would perform for their folks, to her giving tips on fitness when they were not even in high school, and even using Jake to help her during her photography phase by being one of her first models, Sam’s always been a guiding big sis in Jake's life. Today, this nature suits her all the more not only as a mother but most especially as a working educational professional.
Our favorite things:
Her unconditional desire to help, her refreshingly empathetic voice (especially when navigating mutual milestones), and her unabashed humor
We couldn't ask for a better brother-in-law than Dakota. He grew up in the beautiful landscape of wild Wyoming and loves to rep his pride for the Cowpokes. Sunday afternoon football is a favorite of his, as well as tropical getaways to the island of Hawaii. Dakota likes to cook up new recipes for the family, and can certainly make one helluva brisket. Fun fact: The first time Dakota met Jake was the same time he asked Jake to be a groomsman for his own marriage to Sheriden!
Our favorite things:
His subdued amusement, unwavering loyalty, and calming presence
From 5th grade Sock Hop dances, to angsty junior high summer sleepovers, Savannah has been through it all with her best friend, Desi. Her joy for exploring the great outdoors is infectious and her passion for giving back to the community through volunteer work is inspiring. She's always thinking of others and looking for fun ways to soak in all the beauty this life has to offer. Fun fact: Jake once successfully surprised Savannah with a visit from Desi to New Jersey and it remains a most cherished memory to this day.
Our favorite things:
Her sense of humor, passion for adventure, and consideration for others
Practically Jake's little brother, the actual one to Sam, they met much the same as Natalie but in South Jersey. From all the time they spent playing video games together to sharing mutual interests when it came to the strange. One such memory that's still fresh? At his parents, jumping on the master bed singing, “There’s Things Out There”, a song featured on Alvin & the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein. And yet, Jonathan & Jake always seemed to share one calm mind between them.
Our favorite things:
His consideration, calmness, and playful spirit
Together with Natalie for nearly as long as Savannah & Jake, we met Kyle much in the same place we’d see him countless times thereafter: at the Gearys' South Jersey home. If Natalie’s energy is a running stream, his is the stone that makes the river sing. From all the dinners we’ve shared with him, to waltzing down Bourbon Street in NOLA, Kyle has always brought such a tranquil adventurousness wherever he goes. We're glad he and Natalie found one another.
Our favorite things:
His joyful serenity, poised compassion, and all-the-while upbeat personality
It didn't take long for Savannah to ask Linor to be her college roommate after discovering she was also an incoming theatre major from out-of-state. Linor has a passion for adventure and fearlessly tries new things. She is a motivated self-starter whose positivity manages to see the potential in anything (and anyone). College was definitely hard at times, but Linor always managed to put things in perspective and believe in the possibility of, "What if?" This passion for people and the ever-developing journey is what makes Linor a gifted social media manager, and even better friend.

Our favorite things:
Her unshakeable determination, bold imagination, and hopeful encouragement
Sam is a whirlwind of delightful energy in the family. She met Savannah's brother, Cody, five years ago while working with Sheriden at the the North Texas Municipal Water District. Since then, whether it’s been on group dates, family outings, vacations, or simply meeting one another at a cycling event, Sam is chock full of poignant and uproarious tidbits no matter where we are. She’s truly a welcomed addition to the party (and will happily supply a board game or two)! Fun fact: Sam has a cat named Cersei and a rescue dog named Gabby.
Our favorite things:
Her enthusiastic curiosity, remarkable candidness, and zest for life
Anything written about Meaghan would likely be better written by Meaghan because she is an incredibly gifted writer. Her love for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler is evident in her witty quips and quirky sense of humor. Savannah and Meaghan met during college and collaborated on multiple projects within the student-run theatre organization, Fairleigh Dramatics. Meaghan is an unabashed musical theatre nerd (ask her about her Playbill collection), but it truly doesn't matter the subject - Savannah learns something new every time she's with Meaghan. Fun fact: Savannah studied abroad in England with Meaghan as her roommate!
Our favorite things:
Her thoughtful intellect, loving inclusivity, and fierce optimism
Savannah and Pamela met in college and quickly developed a strong relationship built on the mutual love for Shakespeare. She was the Hero to Savannah's Beartrice in Much Ado About Nothing - cousins who are fiercely protective of one another. This dynamic came so easily that playing these characters was like breathing air. Pamela has always been the ultimate cheerleader, planner, and creative. She shows her affection for others through the art of crafting and often DIYs her own home decor (and Halloween costumes). She is truly one-of-a-kind in both theatre and her full-time marketing job. Fun fact: Pamela inspired an entire college friend girl's trip to Arizona this last year!
Our favorite things:
Her childlike inquisitiveness, vivid creativity, and warm enthusiasm
Elliott brings us (and all around him) a torrent of laughter, smiles, and happiness. We couldn't be prouder to be his Uncle Jake and Aunt Savannah.
Our favorite thing:
His bold and joyful self-expression
Bridger and Cheyenne bring us (and all around them) immense joy and we couldn't be prouder to be their Uncle Jake and Aunt "Nana."
Our favorite things:
Bridger's enthusiasm for group play and Cheyenne's fondness for "dog-dogs"
Angie and Mark share a love of exploration and travel, which taught Savannah at a young age to seek out opportunity wherever she could find it. This ultimately led to her pursuing a college education outside of Colorado, and if it wasn't for their selfless support, she would have never met the love of her life. Words cannot describe the immense generosity Savannah and Jake have been gifted by them. Love knows no limit, and Angie and Mark have proven that time and time again.
Our favorite things:
Angie's enthusiasm for adventure, Mark's curiosity for cuisines (and machines), and their collective unwavering support for their children and grandchildren
These two native Nor'easters have been the couple's East coast anchors for so many years. Tracey and Joe have always shown the betrothed what it truly means to live authentically and without apology. For Jake, they've always been a guiding light of pursuing one's passion all while leading thoughtfully. Their generosity is immeasurable and forever loved by Savannah and Jake. Love finds its own rhythm and harmony in time, and Tracey and Joe have modeled this countless times.
Our favorite things:
Tracey's tender but vivacious energy (especially when hosting), and Joe's easy-going nature that's full of curiosity in the arts.
